But of course, Sir Peter, we peasants must have SOME form of communication. If we spoke proper English, we might be able to convince other peasants that we are noble and thus undermine the dictums of the true nobility such as yourself.

Surely you see the benefits of the language of the unwashed masses (by the way,did you ever get that whole paternity situation squared away with Kylie?)

Wow, that's big--sorry Gid. I am apparently the only one who doesnt speak "General American English" the majority of the time. But I would also like to add, that I don't call it either a water fountain or a drinking fountain--it's a bubbla!

shades,

I thought you were from England..."bubbler" is a Wisconsin-ism (and I,too, was a tad disappointed at its exclusion from the quiz).

I can see where the Yankee comes from, but Dixie? Oh well. As 100% Northerner, this is about what I expected.

Trade you my 10% yankee for your 10% dixie (I am 65% general, 25% Dixie and 10% Yankee - and I have only visited Yankee territory!)

I was replying to NJ, but you started the thread, so I will give you a cookie as well!  Dont worry, your place in the top 10 is solid!

I just thought of one way the dixie part may make sense. I've got family in both Virginia and North Carolina. Maybe they affect my speech.
