EA has officially grabbed another exclusivity contract for football, chalking up its third. The College Licensing Co. has signed a six-year exclusive agreement with Electronic Arts, making it the only company allowed to use NCAA schools, stadiums and teams starting with the upcoming "NCAA Football 2006." Since EA has already gained the exclusive contracts for both the NFL and Arena Football, many had expected Take-Two to do their best to obtain the NCAA contract, something that only EA has bothered with for the 2004 season.
CEO of The Collegiate Licensing Company, Pat Battle had this to say of the deal, "When we began our analysis of the video game landscape, it became apparent that EA SPORTS was best positioned from a marketing and development perspective to maximize the sales opportunities for college football."
