PCGamer UK comes out with the not so shocking news that Half-Life 2 will have an expansion. The expansion pack, dubbed Half-Life 2: Aftermath will again feature Gordon Freeman and his sidekick Alyx and has tentatively been slated for a "Summer" release by PCGamer UK. The scoop comes from the May issue's top article, a chat between PC Gamer UK, Valve designer Robin Walker and writer Marc Laidlaw and contains few actual game details. One interesting thing that comes up is that of Steam, Valve's content delivery system; Walker took the helm on this question.
"The reason we're able to do this, and why it's so exciting is because of Steam. If we were doing this without Steam we'd have to put it in a box, we'd have to start figuring out shelf space over a year beforehand. You'd see it six years from now," he claims.
