Google Map Limerick (thanks npr.org)

and a picture of my brother's house in colorado

Fold-out paper deals have many gaps
They don't help when I scout local traps
But aerial shots would help me a lot
So I search Google's satellite maps.

Dying to know what your neighbor's keeping behind that shed? Need help with your plans for world domination? Google, as always, is ready to help. On Monday the search engine unveiled a new feature that enables its users to zoom in on homes and business all over the country using satellite images. So now, thanks to Google, people who spend too much time on the computer, can be a whole new kind of creepy.

I just went to Google, and I don't see any place to look for satellite images. Maybe you can guide me in the right direction.

Well, it's powered by Google, but the ironic thing is that I had to "Google" it to find it after hearing it on the news. Apparently Google has acquired a company called Keyhole. So here's where it is:

http://www.keyhole.com/

You can download a free one-week trial version...then to buy the best version costs $599!!!!!! Holy crap. So I say, enjoy the free trial while you have it.

Actually, I just went to maps.google.com and I didn't see anything about downloading or a trial version.

I did find my house though!

Good to know! I'll use maps.google.com instead. Very cool. But kinda creepy. Let's make sure that al Queda doesn't catch on to this.

I've actually seen satellite images on the web for quite some time, so I don't think Google's use of it will undermine national security. Also, the zoom level leaves a bit to the imagination. This is still cool, though.

I do think this is slightly creepy.

... I zoomed in on my old hand out.

I know where I lived, but coulnd reconize the house

as far as national security, terrosits and other criminals are smart enough to make their own maps. this does nothelp them do what thy do no more than any other type of research.

Once they are content on doing it, there are so many things that a free country has for them to use it is not even funny.

Er...I tried going to Langley, Virginia and I zoomed into the air force base. I saw all the fighter jets parked, and one was taxiing!

I counted 29 empty parking spots for planes.
