Most Windowblinds stop taskbar icons from appearing

help greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Most of the Windowblinds I download stop the taskbar icons from appearing on the bottom right of the screen. Its quite annoying when I want to quickly open MSN Messenger for example.

Another problem I have with Windowblinds is the jogging of the screen. I beleive this is becuase the different window sizes users create or something (I read in the FAQ). I cant seem to stop this from happening.

I havn't had one Windowblind that properly works yet, . My PC isn't that bad! (its fairly new)

thanks for your time.

Help greatly appreciated!

ta!

Are you using the overides to make the taskbar small? If you are, some of the skins will not show the tray icons on the right side. You can do a couple of things: 1. Make sure you have the "skin decides taskbar size" selected in the user overrides section in the Windowblinds configuration panel. Or, if you want to have a small taskbar, 2: If you have Skin Studio, you can resize the content margins in the taskbar. You would have to load the skin in question into Skin Studio, then do this:
On the left side, Click on Taskbar, then system tray, then horizontal tray. On the right side, click on Content Margins. Then change the top and bottom margins. I usually do the top margin at 2 or 3, and the bottom margin at 2 or 3 as well. You will have to experimennt. After you change the settings, be sure to save, then apply your changes. I have only run into one blind that I could not get the system tray icons to show with a small taskbar, even with adjusting the margins...it is an older skin, and might have something to do with it.

Hope this helps, and that I didn't confuse you.

Try jogging a mile in the morning, and then again at night!

I don't know what to tell you. I have never had this problem with WB..... Just thought I would try to cheer you up in the mean time...

I'm glad you got the icons back again.

Call me dumb...I have no idea what "jogging" is in reference to windowblinds. Can you enlighten me?

Thanks!

I have same problem with the 'jogging', when you open a window it opens mid screen, then you have to drag it up to the top.

it just constantly shakes, it only happens on some pages...

When I load up a preview/screenshot of a windowblind, it shakes/joggs

Hmmm...I have never had that problem. Hopefully, someone will come along soon, and help you out. Sorry, I can't help on this issue.

#6 sounds like the old Firefox problem. FF windows start shaking like crazy *sometimes*, when a new skin is applied while FF is open. Reloading the page, rollup/rolldown, closing/reopening FF... all those can fix it.

If you're talking about regular application windows, I've never seen that either.

you don't have to go back to explorer. You can close FF then change windowblinds or you can change windowblinds and just reload your tabs.

It has been suggested on another thread that it may be due to one of the extensions you have. I download WindowBlind skins with FF and have never had a problem when apply while FF is running.
