You can only build one improvement and ship per planet per turn. That's just the way that it's designed.

Do you mean one per planet, or overall?

I was under the impression it was possible to buy one and build one on the same planet in the same turn. You can't buy if you would have completed the improvement in one turn anyway, so sometimes you have to set social spending temporarily to zero.

Umm, actually I guess you can select your next social project after purchasing one.  But it doesn't work for ships. If you change the ship being built after purchasing one, it changes the ship that was purchased (but won't build if it has a longer build time).

You were never supposed to be able to purchase mosre than one building on a planet in a turn. If you could it was probably the trainer. Which most people here probably don't approve of.

It actually was possible at one time. This changed because only the last item purchased would show on the details screen, even though all of them had their normal effects. I'm not sure if this was a pre- or post- release change, though.

Quoting myself (again... this isn't the first time the topic came up)...

This is the originally stated reason, but I personally think that you shouldn't be able to buy more than one project per turn per planet anyway. Runaway economics already breaks the game as it is, and isn't too difficult to set up on difficulties below Maso. We don't need to make the mess reiterative too. (Not to mention the time that would logically be needed to actually get all these project going, for an in-game explanation)

i think it should be an queueing system for project. beacuse it diffecult to go to all planets and buy an new project avery turn.

There is a queue. It's under the Governors tab of the domestic policy window. Every colony uses Mr. Ford's queue by default, but you can set it to use one of the others on the planet's details screen. And rush buying projects is a huge waste of money if you don't actually need them right away.

Not really. The queue's he's referring to are galaxy-wide build queues. The next item in the queue won't appear to try to buy until the next turn. It's really just a default build order for if you don't want to manage the building yourself.

What you're looking for is not available, and has not been for a while.
