I am not sure I Stardock will ever release something larger than Gigantic Galaxies. Maybe if they release GCII ?

It was mentioned in the Beta days that Stardock internally had a 100 X 100 map.

Outsch, that would be high-end PCs only.
Soo many ships
Soo many planets
Soo many resources

Wouldn't it be possible to make one for your self? You can mod the game, I don't see why you couldn't make a custom galaxy size?

It depends how old the information you read is, Gigantic is bigger now than it originally was. I don't remember which version it was though that the increase was made, except that I'm pretty sure is was 1.1 or later.

The current gigantic galaxy gives me a headache just imagining it. Just try to imagine a galaxy bigger.

My computer used to be able to handle the old gigantic universe. I played for the first time with the new size, although I can handle the size, my computer can't! It starts taking 5-6 seconds everytime I press Turn. For me, that's bad because most of my strategies is repeatedly pressing that button over and over again. :-)

i think it would be neat to have a "super-dense" option, where you end up with around 10 star systems in each sector. you can play on much smaller maps, yet still have the game last for a long time. it would still slow the computer down, but atleast you dont have to keep track of such a wide area.

That would cut quite a bit of the strategy of supply lines and fleet upgrades and deployment, I use F9 to keep track, i can see you have never played Stars... http://crisium.com/stars/page_whatis.html
