Elementary School Children Emulating the Founding Fathers

This afternoon at work (I am an elementary school teacher) I went out to the playground to gather a few of my students.  After looking around a bit, I found the kids whom I was looking for.

Two of the kids that I found were playing in a rather animated group of first graders.  There were about fifteen kids picking up handfuls of freshly-fallen snow, rubbing it in their hair, and exclaiming: "Look at me!  I'm George Washington!"  (I took a picture of this, and I e-mailed it to myself to post in this weblog, but somehow the mail didn't go through.  We'll just have to go without a visual aid.)

The good news is that the recent Presidents' Day lectures have had some sort of impact on the kids.  The bad news is that kids are rubbing snow in their hair!

I guess when you get closer to recent American history they'll be putting flowers in their hair! ;~D

Glad to see that the kids are picking up tidbits about our Founding Fathers!!!

At least they weren't in the "clubhouse" making out with each other and showing their private parts to one another (like my first graders here in Vegas have been doing as of late).

Isn't it cool when they act out what you're doing in class? Over conferences I had parents who told me that their daughter comes home and plays school with them...and SHE gets to be Miss Matson... lol.
