How does one upgrade the game AI?

I asked this question buried in another message, so I am calling this out as a separate message:

On the back of my GalCiv game box, it says: "...the player can allow the game AI to look at strategies used by the top players to make the game smarter.".

Exactly how does one do this? I can't find any options in either the game itself or the metaverse to do this. I am running version 1.13.080 of GalCiv.

Thats really the original purpose of the Metaverse, I don't know how much it's been used that way though.

But how would one go about using the Metaverse that way if one really wants to? How do you "allow the AI" to look at other player's strategies?

You don't, thats not exactly what it means. Stardock does. They see all the information in all the games everyone sends in then they put the chosen improvements into a patch.

I guess there isnt any allow button.
Maybe:
1) it just takes your strategies without asking and really uses them.
2) it is just bullshit. nothing happens really (i doubt this one).

It sounds like more than it is agreed, but the AI has (on some accounts) been "learned" to act on the human players "aggressions". When you up the difficulty the AI will actually get smarter and does extra actions has been added thru comments from players on these forums.

But not much smarter- apperently the AI has been made easier lately- grrrrrrrr.... I don't want to go to masochistic and just shove resources at the AI I want it to work well on Crippling too.
