Why transparent windows?

I have used the transparent window feature (on Robotics), but I don't understand how this enhances my desktop. Can someone clue me in as to the usefulness of this feature? Thanks.

I use it once in a while if I'm downloading while reading something. Fade the download so I can see the rest. Out in the sticks, sometimes the download fails so I keep an eye on it.

A lot of fans suggest windows blind support transparency.
It is just cool.
Someone may think it is distracting when we are working on a computer.

Probably we don't need Windows Blind to support Transparency.
If there is an option which can set the title bar and window frame/border transparent in WindowFX, the fans will be cheered up a lot.

It gives a nice 3D, Futuristic look to the GUI - though it currently seems to tax the system.

It also seems to be a logical step to follow the "Aero" or "Glass" look, at least in my opinion.

Unfortunately, my graphics card is on the legacy PCI bus - so I don't tend to use a lot of transparencies yet.

Currently, we can use the Glass Effect Shadow in Windows FX.
But shadow is shadow, so we cannot move a window by dragging the semi-transparent shadow.
