Show desktop on ObjectDock

Greetings; I am a newbie planning to purchase ObjectDock, but
have a couple minor questions.
I placed "show desktop.asf" on the dock; verified its link, but
when I click on it nothing happens. Any hints? Alternatives.
Sometimes my dock disappears and I have to lunch it again. Any
potenital reasons?
