This year our ward starts at 9am. Yikes! I'm sure I wasn't the only one surprised that our family was there on time today. Even early! The parking lot was so incredibly vacant when we arrived...at only 15 minutes before 9. We had a choice of sitting just about anywhere our hearts desired.
Last year church started for us at 1pm. I felt so gleefully lazily indulgent waking up between 10-11. But yes, laziness does feel kinda icky too. I know. So as much as I pretended to dread my early wake up call, it was nice to greet the sunrise and be on the autobahn so early in the morning. The morning was crisp and new. Just gorgeous. We had a great time with the new kids in our class.
And John, bless his heart, worked last night from 6pm to 6am, stayed awake to be at church at 9, did his duties for the three hours, then finally lay down at 1pm. Only to get up again at 5:20 to be back at work in 40 minutes. And not a single complaint. He was genuinely happy to do it.
