I look for the road to wander on

The Problem with the road less tavelled by is the fact that sometimes the road hasn’t been used in so long that you lose the road entirely. Thankfully though, when the road gets that overgrown, all we have to do is look around for people as we go down that path, and they can help us. I’ve met people on this road before who have already travelled my stretch and have showed me where to meet back up with the right Path. Other people were as lost as I was and simply having eachother as friends, or significant others, helped us both find our ways again. The hard parts of the different paths that I’ve been on were the areas where I’ve needed to admit defeat and look for others for guidance. The hardest parts, however, have been the times when I didn’t look for help, or when I looked for the help and didn’t take it when I saw there path wasn’t what I wanted.

I have since humbled myself greatly since the last time I refused help. I have admitted that I have problems (which, I hear is the first step to recovery), and now take all advice to heart, wether it’s advice I want to hear or not.

Now here’s a little Bio of myself (wit out giving too much away). I’m an 18 year old male, 6 ft. tall, short brown hair, greenish blue eyes, and a light complection. I have one sister that is 21 and a brother who is 16. I still live at home with both my parents, and younger brother in Phoenix. All my family lives in the southwest. I also have a fmous cousin you all know as the hyperborean wanderer (yeah wanderer, we do know eachother, I geuss I couldn’t be more obvious with my comment). He is my real inspiriation for doing this.

I have been wrestling with the idea of joining the armed services for about four and half years now and had a few conversations with the wanderer that helped me out a great deal. In that four and a half years I have had many different jobs. My first job was at a local Ice Cream store. I was there about eight months before I decided I needed to quit to focus on school (OK, my parents decided that one). After that I worked for a Festival Booth that made Crepes, which was a lot of fun, but wasn’t steady enough to get decent pay. The next two jobs I had were at different pizza places where I learned a skill every teen-age boy needs to know, Tossing the Dough. From there I stepped up to a high class hotel, which is a good job to work at for awhile, but I would suggest quitting before becoming too jaded (there are many stories behind that to be saved for later blogs). For now though, I work at a place that provides “Socially Interactive, Multi-Venue Entertainment” (taken from the company mission statement). That means there’s five bars, a mongolian grill, twelve bowling lanes, an arcade, a conference room, six billiard tables, and a dance club. A lot of fun to go to not so much to work for. My job there is game tech. I play the games, I break the games, and I fix the games, generally in that order but not all the time.

Well that’s me at a quick glance. Thank you wanderer, and ole teach. This isn’t so much my thoughts right now just an intro. to me and where I’m coming from. This Intro/Bio doesn’t explain who I am but I guess you will figure that out over time reading my blogs. Please send me any comments on any blogs I post. I will try to post one atleast every other day. I don’t always have acess to the computer but I will try. Again I am basing this blog site off my own experiences, however I want to learn from your experiences so please write comments.

Wow. That intro is very deep. Something to make everyone that reads it stop and think. I think writing will be good for you.

Welcome to Joe, Lost. I hope you find that writing will help you organize your thoughts, I know it does for me. Seeing so many of my family and friends take this up because they see me doing it is kind of humbling, but I bet it'll be rewarding too.

Lost@18 - It was interesting how you started out your article. At your age I was lost and looking for my way as well. It took time, but eventually I did find it. Follow your heart, and think before you act, it will get better. As for the military, they do have a way to show you the road.

Good luck, I hope we will hear more from you.

Everyone has to travel their own road. You seem to have a good awareness of a desire to go in the right direction. If you write, I will comment.
