If you pre-order now, when will you receive the copy?

Darn now I'll spend more time PLAYING and less time in the FORUMS. :)

Thank's STARDOCK.

Will Strategy First also sell this? I do not have a credit card and so cannot order it directly...

Btw. I would not have wanted to buy it if the latest patch would not have been that good! ;)

Like maps, players will be able to save their scenarios as their own files and share them with others in GalCiv's Metaverse library
End of quote

:)

The Metaverse will be enhanced to have the top players of a given campaign listed along with top empires of a given campaign
End of quote

:D

Note: Users who have Drengin.net will receive the expansion pack as part of their subscription

Looks like Christmas is coming in February...but it should be worth the wait!

I'm a bit fearful of the multi-game part. I usually don't like the 'and now a harder map' thing. To me a scenario is a map with specific events and mods. So my question is: How do triggers work? What kind of tirggers will be availabel for mod makers?
Will it be possible to pack together map, scenario and mods so that this be a whole (like I change the whole tech tree, the map, put some events, and call this a scenario)?
Is it possible in particular to trigger an event when planet/system XX is first sighted in sensor range / settled / conquered?

I think the triggers will work like these in StarCraft maps... Whenever a certain thing is fullfilled a certain other thing can happen. The condition and result can be everything that you could imagine!I am quite sure that all of the conditions in your example are possible, well is first in sensor range probably not but I don't know...

How much did a Drengin.net subscription cost? 30$, right?

I think so, yes. I'll take that too btw.

What I'm interested in, is the list of triggers they propose, and in knowing what kind of scripting language we can use to react to them, mostly in terms of what can we do in reaction to what events?
I guess that 'star system in sensor range' may not exist, but since you meet ai's when you get them into sensor range, surely sensors can trigger something...
This is typically an event that would be worth having, because you could do things like a panel saying "Err... spooky planet, sir. It looks like the continents are shaped in letters in the old Altarian alphabet that spell out 'I love Draginol'". And then if you land there, you will automatically get the Draginol event, but at least you were forewarned, before even settling the planet. You can think of other things, like pirate ships appearing if the planet is detected, or citizens deciding that this new planet is that the Prophet told them about so they launch a colony ship illegally and try to spawn a new civ there... whatever...
So what events do we get?
I'd like these I mentionned, plus:
death of a ship named XXX,
ship named XXX reaching a certain level,
meeting of another civ,
having more than N star systems,
2 races allying together,
and probably others I can't think of right now.

True there must be a sensor-range event now where you came up with the example...

But I hope you don't need to learn a scripting language, moreso I hope it's realized like in SCEdit...

You want a list of Triggers? Well I think since they haven't done the expansion yet chances are good that you have an influence on what triggers will be in! That's why StarDock is StarDock... I can think of 2 things at least that were fixed because I said that I wanted them to be fixed... And many others because someone else wanted it.

I would however still like to be able to disable the Pie-chart in the bottom left corner of the screen that always spoils so much. If you learn how to read it you can see the AI-Level (if you used random levels), when someone colonized a second planet (on smaller maps) and so on...

Looks really nice. I was about to subscribe till I noticed that drengin.net subscribers already get the expansion. Excellent! Looking forward to renewing my drengin.ner subscription next year to help pay for further development!

Might be an idea to add a link to drengin.net subscription as well as the current link. Also, why are the download and download+CD the same cost?

Paul.

russellmz2, thanks for the link. I posted a few suggestions. Hope he won't choke on them. Most of them exist in civ2 or in my own game so they are all feasible. Though I forgot to add the 'give new tech' event! A nice one to set triggers...
