Song I wrote

Gathers Dust

I wrote this the other day, and though there's no music for it yet I think I subconsciously wrote it with my friend Wieser in mind. So if I ever do get a band together I will try and get him to sing it. I know it will be hard to picture how it goes together but I thought I'd share it anyway. Just imagine some string bass and maybe a little trumpet lounge style.

Gathers Dust

You found me to be a spectacle,
a sight to cherish and hold dear,
but not a damn thing about me you find respectable,
but somehow you're lost without me near.

You're so tired of being stepped upon,
but if you're so desperate to be yourself,
then you really outta get back up-on,
get back upon my shelf...

And gather dust, and gather dust, and gather dust.

Inside of an old cheap motel,
it's just a mile off 94 (you know the way)
the same damn one that we both know so well,
is where my beating heart lies on the floor...

It gathers dust, it gathers dust, it gathers dust.

No place among verterans,
we're old hands at best,
lack luster unshining stones,
we need direction, to be told no less,
that we're no good at being alone...

So we gather dust, we gather dust, we gather dust.

A little blase without a beat, but once you get the right music in there it will be amazing.

No good at being alone, love the ending line. Is anyone really good at being alone?
