I am new to Galactic Civilizations. I am have been playing for an hour or so and I am trying build starships but I get a message that I have no resources. Of course I can buy ships, but can someone tell me how to get resources?

If you have no resources in an area it means you probably have either that type of spending at 0%, or you are below -500bc

agree with Geoffrey's very fast response :D

If you get below -500 bc in your bank account all production is frozen until you get your bank account better than -500 bc.

It is an effective way to make us pay our VISA bill. ;)

No resources means that there is no production on that world, due to not enough spending. That could be because of lack of spending or just lack of money.

Thanks for the responses. I have $1258 in my treasury. All 3 of my planets say "no Resources" under military projects, though - any other ideas?

I just figured it out - under domestic policy, I had the slider bar all the way down for "Military" - I just moved it up. By the way, I really like this game. Thanks again.
