The Vote In Iraq

My heart is overtaken in love, respect and pride for the work our troops have done in securing the vote for Iraq. I don't know how many of you watched the faces of the Iraqi pleople as the cheered, waved flags and clapped and jumped for joy of feedom. Lord! What a wonderful people we are! There has never been so great a nation! How very thankful I am to have Bush as our President to inspire and finish the course. May the Lord bless these men and women, their families and posterity for all their sacrifice and good works! May the Lord's mercy be always upon them with Grace to furnish them with their every need for so great and unselfish acts.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THOSE WHO SACRIFICE FOR THIS ACT OF KINDNESS THROUGHOUT ETERNITY! AMEN AND AMEN

why does this remind me of the effects of german propaganda during WWII... kind of scary to do a historical analysis of it... but i guess the rest of the world only needs to support capitalism with a bit of democracy on the side to really impress you... afterall... 10 years ago people were saying the same thing when Saddam got into power to give the US access to iraqi oil... isn't that what this entire war was about... the oil???

You know, some people just can't stand American success. The uninformed keep repeating the same ole mantra, wasn't the war about oil. Yet, they can't trace a drop of any oil in Iraq to America. It's about feedom and democracy for the a people in bondage, yet some just won't see it that way.

You don't know anything what really is happening in Iraq. Hint: watch some other newschannels than cnbc or CNN for a while. But I quess God forbids you of getting unbiased view of whats really happening in _world_ outside of the view through star and stripes coloured glasses

I think it's funny how people think that Al-Jazeera is completely unbiased and 100% accurate, just because the American media isn't completely unbiased and 100% accurate. These people don't seem to understand that both sides could be biased and inaccurate, because they need to see the world in black and white.

How the heck you can quote with this thing. But anyway I didn't mention Al Jazeera (or any other news channel) What I tried to tell is that if you had watched some other media than you would have seen something else than just happy people dancing on the streets and reports of merry voting.

I have lost my trust on CNN mainly because I see other sources of news more frequent, and almost everytime when there's politics involved their view is more or less sugar coated to please someobody (americans? I don't know)

And don't get me wrong, I know it's a good thing that Iraqis can vote, but when most of the people are afraid to vote or are afraid what will happen to them or their relatives if they vote then everything isn't just perfect and happy. People who think that something can be solved by exploding bombs on innocent people are not high on my ranks, but as long as religion is affecting certain people in certain conditions as it is now - well the violence begins to feed itself.

That's true. You didn't mention any actual news channel. Therefore, it sounds as though you're being entirely hypothetical.
Besides, something tells me that even your news source might not be 100% accurate and objectively unbiased.

Sincere patriotism and love of my country compels me to say what nobody has. We have already lost the war in Iraq. All of the posturing, voting, raids and chest-thumping in the world won't change that. We needed to have fought a true counterinsurgency war, not the conventional fiasco we currently are waging. Our soldiers are sitting ducks and we don't have the staying power. Those of you who doubt the truth of what I'm saying, mark this date and write me in a year. We'll see who is right.
