Am I alone? Or are others still having problems posting Metaverse scores

Worked well enough at first (v1.0 days) but since the latest xpack build, no luck.

It just doesn't work at my end. Very frustrating to watch my score drop, but oh well...

It's all quiet in here on this issue, so I suppose the issue is all at my end. Anyone else having troubles with posting metaverse scores?

What happens to me:

I click submit, but nothing happens. Before the expansion it would go to either say successful or fail. I have to click it about a dozen times before I get a pop up tell me that there was 9 fails and 1 successful. Then I have to click 'ok' a thousand times before that screen finally disappears.

Things were much easier before the Xpack.

I just click on the button once, then wait up to 5 minutes - walk away, get a pop, or just stretch my legs. Eventually I'll get the Test:1 Error:0 message. Once when I got the message my score still wasn't posted. I just loaded up the End Game Save and re-submitted on the next day and it went through. I don't know if that helps you any - I'm sure you have heard tons of suggestions on how to fix it, but that works for me.

I've noticed it takes a few minutes to bring up the "Test:1 Error:0" message recently. I've simply clicked "submit" once then hit "Alt-Tab" and went straight to the metaverse to see that it was posted, almost instantly. I'll then return to the game to see the test/error message over the front-end screen.

I've only started submiting since the X-pack... the test/error message came up a lot quicker the first time I submitted though.

There is not an error message Test: 1 Error:0 means game submitted succesfully, that is not an error is just the code for the previous message (game submitted), so if you get the Test:1 Error:0 go to Metaverse and you will see your game already there, for some people takes couple of minutes for the result to be posted specially for those who uses dialu-up as me.

I had one time where I got the message, but no score posted. I just re-submitted the game the next day and it went through.

Dont hit the submit button more than once. It eventually work, just give it some time. The indication as to what its doing is poor. There should be a message that pops up saying that the score is being submitted and to "please wait". Also the successful submission message, ie "send status 1", is so cryptic that it confuses a lot of people. Being a programmer, it makes perfect sense to me. "1" is a logic convention for "true", in other words it worked. However, user friendly it is not.

Yes, but it's better than no indication of pass or failyre at all, which is what it used to be. :-)

This looks to me like the game is displaying the debugging info instead of some user-friendly message. While you can surmise that "Test:1 Error:0" means that the post passed some validation test and the error code returned was "0" (no error), it would be nice if the game just said something like, "Your score was posted successfully."

I agree that the method for score submissions is substandard and should be seriously addressed. >:(

I've only registered recently but already have a backlog of games that just don't seem to want to post successfully... :sniff!:

I posted same problem on bug thread and Cari replied to wait as game was doing some calculations.Well I tried her advice and still have same problem as you. But my work around is to submit score and then hit the windows key on keyboard and then go look at metaverse to see if game posted, sometimes yes and sometimes no.If yes then I just close out game and start again.
If no then I go back to game and hit submit again and repeat until it goes thru.
It bugs me that I have to resort to trivial tactics to post games but what is one gonna do?

I also reposted this problem again for third time on bug page.Hopefully it will get some attention eventually.

Ok just went back to check bug report thread and Cari replied "try reloading stardock central only not galciv just stardock".
I am in the process of this as I bang out this message to fellow space travellers.
Will report back if this fixes problem.

I am trying to work through this as well.
I have several posts going to Carielf about this problem.
Need to know what you are using to connect with ie cable modem, dsl, landline or what.
Please respond back here so I can pass this info back on.
Thanks Eradicus :HOT:

Any thing else you can add would be helpful.
Operating system,nic,modem,version of game etc...

Just successfully posted three in a row, as I emptied out my saves after a trip to Germany, sans Internet access.

Posting over a cable modem:

First attempt, Medium - waited 5 minutes. Clicked "Submit" again. "Test:1 Error:0" message appears. Elapsed time - 5 mins. and change.

Other two attempts, Tiny - went through in about 45-60 seconds, clicking "Submit" only once.

So, it works. Granted, it's a long way from the 1.05 days of being able to submit a Large in about 10 seconds, but it works. Just not very quickly...
