You're late... Grrrr!

'I've been on a calendar. But i'm never on time'

-Marilyn Monroe

How i hate it when we agree to meet at a certain time and i'm always the one waitin around for the other person to come. I find it rude and unthoughtful and selfish.

I'm not saying i'm never late. It can happen you know, last minute thing or whatever. But it shouldnt be systematic... The least you can do is call to say, "sorry i wont make it, i'll be 20mns late" or something.

I had this friend who would always show up late. For lunch, for a night out, or just to meet up after work. ALWAYS, she would be late. Whenever she was on time she would still be apologising for being late, because that was how she said hi : 'sorry i'm late honey bunny, how's things?' So after a while i showed up 10mnw late of the time we agreed and i would still wait another 5 or 10mns before she'd show up.

i think it was because she wanted attention on arrival, something like 'aah you're here at last!'. She's always wanted drama in her life, so i suppose being late was something like that. A way to say i'm so busy, i cant be on time.

Needless to say, the friendship didnt last. Not because she was always late, but let's just say it didnt help her case.

So c'mon people, be on time. It's not glamorous to be late, it sucks! (unless you're Marilyn Monroe)

He he he . . . I'm late everywhere I go, but never on purpose . . . the boys and I have a hard time getting our act together when we're trying to get ready. When I absolutely have to be on time, I have to pretend like I have to be there 30 minutes earlier than I have to . . .

I don't like being late though . . . it's something I'm working on.

I like to be early, in fact I always try to be early when going places. That way when something goes wrong and I'm delayed I'm still there on time.

I used to be a chronically (or should that be chronologically ) late all the time as a young man. A friend sat me down and told me how disrespectful my habit was and if I didn't work at changing it, I'd lose my friends. She was dead right, of course. I don't think I was late for attention-seeking reasons, but just because I was so bloody disorganised.

These days, I am more like Danny. I would rather be ready to leave early so at the very least I can be where I'm supposed to be on time. About the only event this rule this doesn't apply to is work, as my start time is anywhere between 9 and 9:30 so I can procrastinate a little in the morning.

Cheers,

Maso

good thing you've improved yourself Maso Of course being on time can be a matter of organization, but i dont believe that was the case with my ex-friend. To me (and others) it seemed she did it on purpose.

*sigh* lucky you! I find myself guilty of coming late to work on Monday mornings. I wonder why
