German Version or german.str for V1.1

Hello

Where i can get the german files for the GalCiv V1.10. I have patched my german version but now all dialogs are in english. I have saved the old version 1.05 and her the files english.str and tooltips.str have german texts. I have copied this files into the updated galciv but this results in a mixture of german and english texts.

There is not going to be another patch to correct the problem. I guess you'll have to just put up with the mixture of languages.

Hi Joeeeeee,
ALL the files in the 'data' directory (except prefs.ini, reflecting your personel preferences) contain german texts. You may recover them all.
Of course there are no german textversions of 1.1 yet.

You can contact the german publisher for any plans or dates: modern-games.de / galciv.de. Good luck.

On the other hand: The texts sound sometimes as if they are translated by native people whose grandfather had once an german shepherd's dog.:D

So I prefer a pure 'english' version.

It would help A LOT, if stardock would make the english text files downloadable as standalone package.

i think its astounding that you can read the german version, for its so bad tranlated. And many things are just wrong.

For all english speaking here my favorite (retranslated):

The torians support rebels against the torians who live inside (the planet) yor.

Everybody who doesnt know the german version is invited to guess who is supporting rebels against whom.

Thanks for the many replies. I have allready tried the pure english version, but playing i much more harder. Ok, a misstranslation is also a problem. I hope a german translation will come soon, in the menatime i play the version 1.05 (german).
