Love, So Painful...So Sweet.

Love, such a beautiful emotion,
Sweet and peaceful, a form of devotion.
But horrible and filled with pain,
Complicated enough to turn you insane.
It can be as peaceful as a balmy spring day,
An elation that lifts you in every way.
Then a dark side rears it's head,
To make everyone gasp in dread.
How powerful this emotion can be,
That it can take over as you can plainly see.
So much evil in so much good,
It motivates in a way nothing else could.
Seeking love is a trifling thing,
Pain, joy, sorrow, elation it can bring.
So many lives devoted to love,
Inspires violence when push comes to shove.
The best, the worst,
Love is somewhat cursed.
Yet still sought after with limited avail,
Like King Arthur and the Holy Grail.
A fickle mistress this feeling is now,
It does many things, but none know how.
A bundle of hormones or something more,
Love is a thing worth fighting for.
Though horrible it seems,
It encourages dreams
Of accomplishments and joy,
Also helping to produce a girl or boy.
Hard to understand,
Intangeable to the hand,
Something caused by spirit and mind,
A magical thing to experience and find.
