It's Permanent!

Here's my tattoo . . .

I am so in love with it. Right now it kind of hurts a little bit, but I'm trying not to be a wuss, ha ha ha. Some day when I'm old and I'm getting a spongebath some nursing home worker is going to think it's really cool.

That's pretty, Tex. Congratulations!

And welcome to the world of ink. I am glad to have you among us.

Wow, that is pretty. Where did you say it was again? That's some impressive art work for whoever inked you. Is the picture actual size or did you enlarge/shrink it? Enjoy your bodyart

Since we are sharing, I will show you one of mine. This is a lower back piece that Zombie designed for my birthday two years ago. It spans my entire lower back and goes down.....

Those are some really cool Tats guys. Nothing is hotter than ladies with ink.

he he he . . . I'm already thinking about another one!

danny:
Wow, that is pretty.

Thanks! I am really pleased with it. And I think it looks even prettier and more vibrant in real life.

Where did you say it was again?

It's on my lower back, kind of half in, half out of my jeans line. I have photos that show the placement but I'm feeling too modest to post them.

That's some impressive art work for whoever inked you.

The guy who did it was really awesome. Jonathon Skelton of The Tattoo Gallery if I remember correctly. He's the owner of the place and has won a lot of awards. I was psyched to have him doing it.

Is the picture actual size or did you enlarge/shrink it?

No, the photo is much larger. The tat is about 5 inches wide and 2 and a half inches tall.

Wow. That is absolutely beautiful. I love it. You have such a gorgeous complexion, too.

Thanks, Tex. I love it too, more so because my husband drew it and spent much time trying to capture all the different aspects of my personality in it.

He he he . . . my back's not as nice as heather's anyway . . . doesn't she look like a hottie?

heather: That is awesome. It kind of reminds me of angel wings.

Very colorful.

You are too sweet and kind. It was intended to portray my sweet "organic, earthly" qualities, as well as my "spikey" side. It also relates to how I move (I was a professional modern/ballet dancer). Interesting as well, is the fact that it also overlays my reproductive organs.....

Plus, my husband loves to see it during love making....  lol

Now I am blushing....

I think that's one of the things I like most about it . . . I love butterflies and it has a peace sign "hidden" in it, too . . . it's very me.

Tex,

The one on my ankle is a butterfly, so I appreciate your love of butterflies.

Wow . . . that is just a beautiful description of its meaning. I have to admit I am jealous . . . it's really awesome that he thinks so much of you and put so much consideration into to designing something that you will carry with you always.

I can imagine so.

I know the butterfly tattoo is cliche, but I think they are so beautiful . . . you'll have to post a pic of your butterfly sometime.

I am incredibly lucky. He is designing my next tattoo currently. He has been working on it for about 6 months now. He shows me sketches...I give feedback and he revises. It is kind of like a collaborative effort. Very special. (I am addicted btw...you will be too.)

You are a brave soul friend! I like the butterfly.

heh. Didn't see the peace sign till you mentioned it. Very nice.

A butterfly, a lovely symbol of freedom and joy. A symobl of peace, in which it is eternally joined.

Great color and I love the "hidden" symbol, the peace symbol. Many people would look and see a butterfly, and they would, no problem with that. I enjoy the effort and meaning in your art. Nothing irks me more than a "conveyor belt" tattoo. Unless it has a special meaning to the person. And as was said, welcome to the world of ink.

I don't like it.  Don't take that as an insult, though.  Tatoos aren't really my thing, and tatoos of butterflys with peace signs really make me wanna gag.  Sorry.  You might think a ring hanging out of the left side of my lip is tacky.

That's why I say this:  I'm glad you like it.  I'm glad it makes you happy.  That part, I do like about it.

Oh, and the above link is particularly germane for these lower back tattoos.

Nice artwork, Tex. Once you have one, you always want more. I'm designing wedding ring tattoos for my wife and I for our third anniversary. I will post pictures once we've had them done.

Happy New Year and all the best for 2005

Cheers,

Cooooooooooool! Remember when you said you werent cool? Girl, this is totally cool!

Man, it's really nice, i usually dont like the color tatoos, but i like this one with the diffrent shades in the colors. It makes it soft on the eye as opposed to the horrible ones that jump at your face lol!

Congratulations on your piece of bodyart;) btw, how long did it take? Did it hurt??

I'm really proud of the peace sign. That was my idea.

Thank you so much. I know the butterfly is so common, but I think my tat is still pretty unique . . . I really like it. I appreciate your comment.

Hmmm . . . probably something that would have been better kept to yourself. You are a brilliant girl, but damn if you don't have a problem with tact . . . that will come back to bite you in the ass later in life.

Thanks. I DO like it.

Thank you. I like that it is soft and girly but then has the cool scroll work to balance it out.

It took about 45 minutes and it just felt like being scratched . . . not unpleasant at all. I didn't mind it. Heh. The tongue piercing wasn't all that painful, either. I was worried about it hurting, but neither were that bad.
