Morality?

Is there any way to increase your morality other than through the colonising events and the very rare governing choices?
If you're at peace with everyone, trading with them and friendly with them all shouldn't your morality be slightly higher than demonic? Obviously the other Civs don't agree you are, or they wouldn't be your friends.
I just finished a game and there were no events in the last 12 game years, so no way to repair any damage done by a few PQ picks in the early planet rush. Once it was clear I was going to win I even set about colonising planets in a bid to generate events, but no luck so I was stuck at 27. In this game I was actually after events to get down to 0 if possible but I am thinking of next game now.
What can I do? I have a weakness for the PQ events, they are just about impossible to turn down and I have never taken the good choice. I fail to see how destroying a desirable planet is a 'good' thing. It would be like turning Beverly Hills into a homeless shelter because its the 'right' thing to do. Whoever did that would never get elected again.

No other way, Quokka.

If you really wish to shift your alignment, do the cheesy multiple 1mil colony ship colonise and disband. Repeat.

Or don't do the cheesy colonization tricks and just bite the bullet and let the worms live. OK, maybe take it just one time when offered a real nice +30% bonus or something, but make it worth it!

But I fail to see where being good or evil matters if you can still get everyone to play the way you want with the peace and trade thing. Unless you really want the special good technology or "good" stamped on your record, it shouldn't matter which way you go.

Thanks for answering. I don't do cheese or I wouldn't ask if there was a legal way to do it, I'd just get out the crackers.
Seeing the good techs is one reason I asked, I have never made the good interface yet. I have only had the game a little over a week and while I am fumbling about learning the game the evil choices are much better than some long off benefit of the good choices. I have to be sure I'll make it to the long off.
Once I have learnt the game better and can be sure of what I am doing then I will try the good route. I haven't failed to notice that many of the top players, inluding you two, have blue circles after their names.

The bigger the map and more abundant the planets, the more you colonize, so one gets more morality events. When I play good I just love those trade centers but sometime I can't pass up a big + PQ and then I play evil. If you play a bigger map or more habitable planets you can go neutral a few times and still make 90. On Huge abundant, I was able to get to 100, lose 10 on a big PQ bonus = kill those worms LOL , then finish around 96. Without many colonizing attempts, it is hard for me to get 90 morality on a smaller map. Good luck. :)

Actually, I fixed it so that you can't use that cheese tactic anymore.  1 event per planet, regardless of how many times it is colonized.

Does this include frequent reloaders? "Colonization" had teeth like that. (though I did find a way to get around that too)

Great! To stop reloading cheese, perhaps the event could be predetermined at map creation.

I agree. Just because I enjoy finding cheezy workarounds, does not mean that I employ them during a normal game. Esp when that score is used in a community. (fyi)

Just finished a game with morality of 100%. It was very easy to get to as all the penalties were very small, on the order of -3% morale, -5%PQ that sort of thing, small single figures. I even got to rescue the endangered race for 21bc and cured the plague for 120bc.
The Trade Centers are great but come too late, only a few of my bigger earliest settled planets got it built. The extra trade routes came in very handy, I can definitely see the lure of good for those.
Wierd game, I won without losing a ship and had Allaince, Cultural and Military victory all possible on the same turn. This with all Bright AI's.
I love all the diplomacy options available. The Arceans were big and had a large fleet that was about the same size as mine. They were at war with the Drengins, but had ticked me off by getting some planets in my zone early in the game so while they were slowly squashing the Drengins in combat I built up Culture SB's and started flipping their back planets. At the same time the Drengins were losing about half their worlds to me and the others to the I-League. Once the Arcean planets started falling their fleet had nowhere to guard so it went en masse towards the Drengins but never fully got there before I flipped the last of the Arceans. In the half turn before they died I traded them for their whole fleet. I gave them as many techs as it took, they were gone when I clicked turn anyway. I got a couple of starbases thrown in as well. With my speed boosts the ex-Arcean fleet squashed the Drengins in no time.
Wierd not being at war with the Altarians.

If you have the game saved before you colonize and then you load that game to get a different colonization event, it doesn't do anything about that.  I think that "fixing" that would be a little extreme, as it would also punish people who only do it once in awhile to avoid a nasty, rare event, and with the limitation of one event per planet, it cuts down on the cheese for the incorrigible reloaders.
