FAQs awaiting FGAs

Here are some questions which I haven't seen answers for yet. Maybe they are out there, who knows:

How do you send a transport to one of your own worlds? I had a transport from one large planet, and I wanted to add those people to a newly settled planet in the same system. I never did figure out how to do that.

How can you see how many colonists are on a particular colony ship or transport?

How can you determine what start system a freighter originated from? Is there any way to *change* the origin system for a freighter, other than to disband it and build it from a different source? (I've made that mistake before, building a freighter at a smaller world, thinking I could just send it to one of my bigger planets before sending it to the target trade world. That didn't work.)

Thx,
Jim

If you have already settled the planet you can't send another transport to it. At least not that I've seen.

You move it into orbit on that world. The population of that transport get dispersed (evenly?) among the planets in that system. When the transport leaves orbit it will ask how much population to load up.

When you select it, it shows the number of million colonists on board at the bottom of the screen in the ship window where it shows ATT, DEF, HP...

From what I've seen in the game and on this board, you can't do either. If it was built recently, then the frieghter will be listed in the build queue in the bottom right corner. In the beta expansion, if you're in the diplomacy screen, you can click on the frieghters hyperlink, to get info about it. It might show where it was built.

Actually, you can. Transports distribute population evenly among the planets within the system, while colony ships will plop the entire population into one planet.

Sigma. You just beat me to it.

The only problem with transports is that, unlike colony ships, you are left with them in orbit.
You can launch them with no one onboard and then either disband them, or send them to a planet with morale problems and pick up some of that population.
