WindowsBlinds not behaving

Probably more of an issue with win2k. WB is meant for XP. Thats about all I know.

Wish I had known that when I was using it 6 years ago on Win98..... (There are things that only work on XP, but WB works on non-XP systems) Someone that knows more about W2k can probably help you out.

do you have the seperate account set to use personalized menus and such?

I have an account for myself that I use on a regular basis. I install all applications as administrator and use the apps via a separate user account. In my user account I can see the Object Desktop program group fine and start the applications from the shrotuts there. In the case of windowblinds I can start it but it doesn't work correctly.

I guess I will have to look at the registry keys under administrator and transfer them over to my user account. I may also need to change folder permissions.

I'm having the same problem. At home with XP pro SP1 no problem, administrator and power users can use Windowblinds just fine. At work with XP pro SP2 windowblinds only works for the administrator, not for power users.

Any ideas out there?

I'm trying everything I can think of, I'll let you if I find a fix.

I've been having the same problem since I upgraded to WB 4.4
Using WinXP Home, my account [owner] is fine, but other account [limited] won't load WB.

Well I finally got around to tyring to fix the problem. I checked the user registry keys for Stardock under the administrator and my user accounts and found that my user account was missing a few keys and valus. To solve the problem I simply exported the administrator user Stardock keys and imported them into my user account and eveything works finefor now. Of course this will be annoying if I need to do this everytime I install or update a component.

Hmm, very interesting. Are different users now allowed to have different skins?

I've always been able to have different skins and icon packages in different user accounts. Now I can't even get the same skin in the user account. Just some Win98-looking skin with the coloring of the skin I'm trying to apply.
Skanjo, where exactly in your registry did you find these keys? I must be looking in the wrong place or not recognizing them when I'm looking at them.

Hmm, so you are using Win98, hence the "Win98-looking skin" and I guess you were able to have different skins when you had WinXP which you had before you had Win98.
