We're definitely interested in hearing ideas on adding more things.

I've already submitted some of my own such as letting users manually choose some of the conditions.  There's something like 20 minutes of sound tracks embedded in there and a ton of different wallpapers.

I think this thing will be huge as it gets going. I'd like to see it also let users add more wallpapers to the mix. But we wanted to hear what people said first.

One thing I noticed is that the moon is out of phase.  Real moon is a crescent now, isn't it?

Choosing the weather conditions would be very nice.  I live in the city and the traffic keeps me awake sometimes.  It would be nice to have this going... or if the sounds are like a thunderstorm, to choose a storm to sleep by, instead of traffic.  Or, to share someone's weather conditions to get some basic idea of what they are living through...

It would be nice if it could minimize to the tray or something, so that you don't have to turn it off in case you wanted to have a clear desk for some reason temporarily.  and a volume control would be nice too.

Hiya All....very interested in this....I've got a couple of questions about it. What size are the wallpapers and if I load up a WB skin that has an included wallpaper, will it replace the Natural Desktop or does Natural Desktop's wallpaper stay put?

No roos here, but I wonder if there are any coydogs, nothing more spooky at night than a pack of howling coydogs moving through the fog across a field....an ominous black shadow off in the distance.

Thanks folks

Chris: You shouldn't have to wait more than a minute for wallpapers, sounds or colors to update. It should also change if you change the location to somewhere in a significantly different time zone or your system clock.

If things aren't changing then can you mail me your system specs (OS etc).

Cheers,

Martin

[whoops!! forgot to post in another browser..}

hmmm... I know I posted here about adding your own wallpapers... w2K4 hiccup I guess...

anyway, how would you add your own wallpapers (unless you plan to do without the wallpaper changing with the weather and time).

I noticed that digital blasphemy gets a lot of shout outs in the screen shot images. good for them!

I wonder how the wallpaper will change if a user adds a wallpaper that is not animated into the mix.

If I put a picture of a car in there, what will it look like at night or in the day?

I read here that other people wated to put in their own images, but how would that work with all the different types of weather conditions?

And how big is this file going to be anyway???

Nice... very nice. Just think about getting a new interface for the configuration of the program

I'm looking at updates now Chris.

I've never experienced issues with walls not changing in testing. Are you using XP? Are you using any wallpaper changing apps? Please mail me directly to continue this - [email protected]

Very nice! Ooooh - I may just have to buy this!

Digital Blasphemy is one of my favourite wallpaper sites, so this just looks too good to pass up!

My girlfriend is demanding this. Looks like a mighty fine colaboration.

Also is there a way to reposition the weather portal or is it hard coded to top right corner?

I'm curious about that as well. If it can't be moved, it would be in a very annoying spot for my setup.

Don't worry got it. Ok now I have a winter landscape can I change the wallpaper ?

No sound and the wallpapers dont change. Someone help please. XP sp2, At first the wallpaper did not change, then I was able to get it working by setting it in display properties just like any ordinary wall. But it stays the summer evening wall no matter what I do. Help please.

Just got it. Will have to leave it running awhile to watch the backgrounds change.

This doesn't work with AstonShell. I don't see any way to get it to hook into the wallpaper which is being displayed. If any of you alternate shell users know how to get around that, I'd appreciate your suggestions.

The sound track is pleasant enough, but when it 'recycles' there's a gap in the sound. I'd like to see that fixed.

It would be nice if the weather thingy in the corner could be moved or even given a 'windowshade' mode if we didn't want to watch the weather bubble.

This is pretty cool. Great idea and totally worth the price.

Thanks,
David

Does anyone else have a 30-40% cpu load with this loaded?

werewolf: The only way that could happen is if your video card's alpha transparency feature is disabled.

There's probabably an easy way to fix that but the way I did it on my laptop was to load up WindowFX which informed me of this and offered to enable that feature in the driver. Once I did that, rebooted, te CPU was at around 4% (mostly from the sound track which uses windows media player).

Also, if you click on the colored area on the dohickey thing, you can change the animation speed.

Yes, but only on my laptop oddly enough... it seems to hover around 50-65%, even after I shut down most other system tray processes.

My desktop on the other hand rarely uses more than 3-4%. I wonder if it could be the crappy Radeon Mobility graphics chipset in the laptop? (it a Compaq Evo N610c)

Well, I went ahead and ordered it, and I must say I think I was expecting a bit more from what was advertised... I'd like to see somthing like an animated desktop or wallpaper (somthing like the "Living" series desktops maybe)... I'll post more thoughts as I spend more time playing with it.

I do find it a bit odd that while I'm in Wisconsin, and it's set for my correct location & hemisphere, my desktop is a tropical rain-forest, complete with palm trees... (I'd rather be there and looking at a desktop wallpaper of Wisconsin)

I'm hoping there will be a video on its way to help showcase it more as of course screenshots don't do it justice. Definitely something I might consider using.
