Can someone explain this to me?...My spyware app's report

I was scanning for spyware, and xupiter shows up in conjunction with stardock central.

Here is my apps report:
Adware: Xupiter
Folder: c:\docs and settings\my login name\temp\noadwarebackup\oe

Here is the contents of the directory in question:
[TYPE:DIRECTORY]
[NAME:oe]
[PATH:C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public]

Since SD is not connected to Outlook Express, (I dont even use it) I have to assume OE stands for something else...Offline Explorer perhaps? What does Xupiter have to do with SD? Someone please put my mind at ease.

perhaps the spyware just decided to associate itself with stardock, i've never had spyware problems with anything from stardock, i advise you to let the proggy delete it but make a backup in case your sd apps are broken

also, perhaps you browsed a website using the sdc web browser which installed spyware into the sd directory?

If I remember right some spyware or spy cookies attach themselves onto the NEXT site you visit. So that might have come from some site you visited before you came to SDC?

crissy...do a search via your spyware proggy or Google for 'Xupiter' to determine it's methodology.

It won't be from Stardock....that's for certain....GM's suggestion is probably correct....

These days I actually feel worried and threatened whenever I have to use IE. Strange feeling, isn't it? I use Firefox for my normal browsing needs.

sp2 has added a ton of great features to ie though, the popupblocker works great, and now, activex objects are also blocked by default...

Thanks for the responses everyone. I didnt think SDC had anything to do with Xupiter, but I just wanted to be sure. I will let my Spyware detector delete the files in question. Yrgal - Thanks, but I already have SBS&D, and a few other spyware detectors.
