Im currently having problems starting my windows blind

application are skinning, neither is my start bar and
menu. I dont understand why, but when i turned on my
PC, the windowblinds application wouldnt load. I tried
using winstyle and it didnt work. I try uninstalling
the program and reinstalling it and still that didnt
work. I dont know what to do, I just turned my pc on
today, thats all. I haven't readjust anything or
touched a single opttion. I trying installing
different windowblinds and they wont load either. Only
thing that works is my desktop themes app, that came
with my pc. Also usually the window blind window will
load and i will click 'try now'. Im running windows
98se & currently using the enhabnced winblinds
3.3. Ive been using it with no problems, and just
today its giving me a headache. Can you please help me
out, im up to my witts with trying to discover why
this is happening.

I've heard a instance where earlier versions of windowblinds actually expired after a certain date. There was a fix offered if you ever had a registered version. I would contact support with your previous or current registration info.

ive emailed the windowsblind people, so im waiting on a response. Ill email stardock too. Ive also cleaned the regedit too and still when i reinstall 'no luck'. Honestly I dont understand why this is happening. Non of the preset skins will load either. This is very fustrating.

I don't know why you're using version 3.3...give 3.5 a shot.

weird

Not weird really. This is an old issue. It got a lot of attention a while ago. Stardock fixed it a long time ago.

Ummm ok, thats nice. So they fixed and you put a smiley face??? Why dont you help me out and show/tell me how to fix it. Ive already emailed stardock 4days ago and got no answer back.

There was no way to fix the version that had the expiration date. If you were a registered user, there was a fixed version. The issue was also fixed in later versions.

i have use 3.5, i tried to use 3.3 to see if it work and it didnt.

I'm not sure what you mean here. If you used 3.5 and it doesn't have this problem, why would you go back to a expired version?

But, like I said, this was a long time ago. It is strange that you didn't have the problem when everyone else did. Did you just get Windowblinds v3.3? If so, sorry.

You're only option maybe Stardock support. If you were a registered user, maybe they can give you v3.5. Not, that it will work with most of the new skins, or the updated old ones. It's just really weird to me now too.

you did not happen to load the 2000/XP only version did you?

Also, Stardock Support could be backed up a bit with just coming off the Holiday so give it a bit more.

There is an app which cleans out all reminants of an installed Stardock app which you should run after uninstalling, then reboot so memory is cleared of any dll's. Then try a reinstall of a known working version you have on hand.

@#15- Just to add a little more to what IP said. After the reboot, you may want to check the windowblind directory and delete it. It may leave old files inside which might corrupt a new install of a later version.

from the original message....

Also usually the window blind window will load and i will click 'try now'. Im running windows 98se & currently using the enhanced winblinds 3.3.

Somehow it looks like a shareware version was installed along with the registered version?

#20- This is exactly what it sounds like to me. You should always Delete the shareware version(add & remove programs), reboot and erase the shareware windowblind directory before installing the registered version.

update, will there is non, still the problem is not fixed and i dont understand whats goin on. I really need some help here and the people behind stardock/windblinds sends me there automated help email, which doesnt help at all. Why is this happening?

Completely un-install WindowBlinds...reboot....reinstall it.....reboot....run the program. Make sure you download a) the one for your operating system and b) the paid version. This is CRITICAL. Do not download the trial version and install the paid version over it. Not a good idea.

Hope this clarifies some statements made.
