Wrong Targets From Desktop Themes: how do I fix?

Also, why are some of these themes, such as "Dark Industry", not changing the look of my taskbar etc. such as shown in the screen shots? Is there something else I need to do for this?

Ok, most of the time the themes are "hard-coded" with paths, that means they are pointing to a path on the author's machine, which may be different from yours. You need to right-click on an object you wish to change, in the properties screen you will be able to point the shortcut to the right file. You can do this for all/any shortcuts on DX themes...

As for the Dark Industry taskbar, you need Windowblinds to change that. Once you have Windowblinds, just find the Dark Industry WB skin...and you're good to go...

Oh, I see where to dl windowblinds... but you made it sound like a seperate program, then you download the skin... am I midunderstanding here?

I recall that at one time, SD was going to develop DX such that an author wouldn't have to hardcode paths and instead just put in the executable name and DX would find the app. Something like that. Keep a registry list of where apps are located? Don't quite remember.

werewolf...DX does have the list you are talking about.


edit object> General tab> Type of object...Change to shortcut.
Back to General Tab> Click the scroll button next to Location, It will bring up a list of Exe's to choose from

well there 'ya go. So it is possible to build a DX theme without having to hardcode paths, yes?

If I am creating a object, and say I choose AcroRd.exe (Acrobat Reader) from the list as my target for the object. It would work for another person if they have Acrobat Reader on there Puter.
