Bush & Co. are scared. I talked to a good friend over the 4th who happens to be a standard Republican. Says that he can't in good conscious vote for the Republican Bush Boys this year. I think it's just the opposite. Most Republicans knew he was going to choose Edwards and it doesn't scare them.

I think that Edwards was the best choice the Democrats could make to attract the greatest cross-section of voters. There really isn't another Democrat that would have "added" a postive effect to John Kerry's run for the whitehouse.

I don't think that the Republicans are scared, but I do expect the comparisons to Dan Quayle to begin. My guess is that is the route the Republicans will take to counter the "Edwards" effect.

I think this will be quite an interesting election...think about it. Here we have Bush: somewhat headstrong, spends billions on Iraq which no one cares about anymore, and has the misfortune to have Michael Moore on his back.

Kerry is obviously preferable, but not perfect. He's indecisive, and seems against giving straight answers. In some ways this is showing he is careful, which is good, but the country needs to know if he'll be better than Bush in a tight situation when quick actions are required.

The addition of Edwards to the team was a smart move, in my opinion. Edwards was second in the primaries, after all. Also, the electability factor is, I think, higher now. Edwards is cheerful and open, and sort of fills in the areas that Kerry lacks.

That's news to me since I don't watch TV and (like our president) don't read the paper I like Edwards and thought that it was more likely than not he'd be on the ticket. I'd vote for moldy cheese before I voted for Bush! (higher IQ)

What I'm hoping is that with this positive addition to Kerry's campaign, that now will see more clearly what the Democrats are offering to do for Americans, because the message is still unclear. It's unclear, because I think that John Kerry has yet to make a stand on an issue and not say something different down the road....

Does Kerry believe that he has the right running mate? Or did someone lay it out for him so that he finally understood that if he wants this shot at the whitehouse to count....this is what he needed....

I agree with Essencay, John Kerry's major flaw is no one seems to know what he stands for. "I'm not Bush" is not enough for me, for many it will be, but not for me. I need some substance, without something he could be worse than Bush. I want to make an informed decision, and right now it would be Bush because Kerry has not given me enough yet.

John Kerry is not stupid enough to walk into the presidency with no plan, so why is he not talking about it?

Personally I think he is letting the race be Bush verse Bush at this point.

1. Iraq blew up this morning and they have instituted Martial Law. The Iraqs have a number of people who want the USA gone and there has been whispers of this might be an indication along with everything else that Civil War is a real possibility.

2. The economy is not doing as great as they claim. The model the run under is based upon the profits and such of business and many people really are between a hard place and the street.

3. Bush is trying to pull 10billion dollars from his Leave All Children behind.

4. Cheney is turning into a wart on his nose. I am sorry but his old company is going to be enough to turn off many people.

5 why should he fight while Bush beats himself?



He has a plan, but why give Bush fodder so he can spin things around to Kerry?

During the debates, Kerry attacked Edwards for his lack of experience, now he wants the man as his running mate, and has nothing but good things to say about him. Edwards is as big a flip-flopper as Kerry, they'll make a perfect pair.  Interesting is not the word I would have used.

And please don't give me this Kerry was a war hero mantra........ when he went to Viet Nam, Swift Boats did nothing but patrol the coast line, and Kerry was quick to volunteer to command one. While he was in training for Swift Boat command, the assignment for Swift Boats was changed. I've read how Kerry reacted to an ambush (in his own words), and the man is no hero, he never so much as fired his weapon. He left Viet Nam early when he received his third Purple Heart, for a "self-inflicted" wound........... John Kerry, a hero? Give me a break!

There is a rumour that Edwards withdrew from the race with the agreement that Kerry would take him as a running mate later... Don't know how true it is, but it could be.

Iraq has not instituted martial law. The new government has passed a new "security" law that will allow them to use things such as martial law if it's needed to fight terrorists.

Yes, there are a number of Iraqi's who don't want us there. Nobody wants to have troops in their country. As far as the "civil war" comment. There is not much behind that. The al aqaeda terrorists were trying to start a civil war, but it really hasn't worked out for them.

The economy is doing just as good, possibly even more than they claim. It's expected the GDP will be the fasted growing in 20 years. Jobs are being created and home sales are at record numbers.

This is good news for the Bush Cheney team, a completely 100% liberal ticket. This would never sell in peacetime, let alone during a global war on terror. Kerry would have been smarter to pick Gephardt, he had all the unions in his pocket, experience in foreign policy, national security based on appeasement of dictators like Kim Jong Mentally Il, and he could have helped Kerry to win some key states. Edwards was only a couple points ahead of fringe element Dennis Kucinich through most of the primaries. These guys are going to get Dukakised

Well I think they have 8 mm footage of Kerry shooting a guy in the back, he recieved a Silver Star for it.

Kerry was supposed to make a speech in Boston last month, but didn't because he said he'll never cross a picketline....the busdrivers union is supposed to be picketing the DNC convention....I wonder what he'll do. If he refuses to cross the picketline to accept his nomination, he will have gained a point of respectability with me. If he crosses the picketline, then that pretty much will solidify my decision for November.
