I agree wholeheartedly with Frogboy. We have to live together here in this webland....this forum although created to provide others with a service and a creative outlet was not by any means intended to be an outlet for agression or attack. You have a right to voice your opinion and to logically create an argument to the opposition...but when it turns into soapbox selling and opponent bashing......

Let's just speculate for a second, that there are people who voted for Bush last election, who are having their doubts about whether to vote for him or Kerry....on the fence so to speak. Why does the Democratic Party allow/accept the lunacidal rantings of Mikie to be associated with them? You would figure that someone "sitting on the fence" would be fairly moderate in their views and the extremist views of Mikie would just turn them off. Am I mistaken, has there been any disassociation from the Dems, particularly from Kerry? The only thing I heard was that during a screening with a ed audience of 600 or so Democrats, Mikie's latest home video got a practical standing ovation.

Essencay, you're getting me a bit miffed. I'm a Democrat. I HATE Bush, and every stinkin' thing he stands for. Mikie, as you so affectionately call him, has really hit on some very major issues. As in MAJOR. If only a fraction of what is in that movie is correct, and I believe most of it is, then even the most die-hard Bushies should be asking themselves, and this government, what the he** is going on. Michael Moore is not a lunatic. And his viewpoint is not rantings and ravings.

I saw the movie this afternoon. Do yourself a favor and go see it. Then, maybe, maybe you'll understand what everyone is talking about, and you will no longer be ranting about something of which you know nothing.

My questions concerned more the moderate viewpoints that most Americans have, not the extremist points of view from either party. I would think that reachings from the far left would push people that are, so to speak, in the middle towards the right, much in the same way, that the extremist views of Pat Buchanan effected Republicans in the past. Kerry has his own weaknesses. Is Michael Moore the answer to those weaknesses? Is the timing of Clinton's book the answer to those weaknesses? To me these events seem to be more of a distraction from the importance of knowing what John Kerry is going to bring to the table for the next four years if he is elected. How does the Democratic Party get the public to embrace John Kerry, to bring the fence-sitters to their camp? I would have expected the Democrats to do so by presenting their agenda for America for the next four years. What I see instead is a smoke screen. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't see John Kerry, I see Michael Moore, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, the 9/11 comission, the war on terror, etc. Somehow I am missing Kerry's message.

When Bill Clinton ran for president, this was not the case with the Democratic Party. There was a clear message being sent to America. The message was clear and you gained a sense that Bill Clinton was the man to get done the vision that was presented. I don't get that same warm fuzzy feeling this time around. I instead get a feeling of anger and insecurity coming from the Democratic Party.

George Bush is still an American, a Christian, a father, a husband. He believes in America, he believes he is doing the right thing for America, he has family values. I am not American and I didn't see the movie. But from what I've read about it, it is indeed pretty convincing. It may be just a bunch of lies (how do you verify that?) or not, but the movie is apparently quite good at convincing the audience that it is the truth. Or at least that part of it is. From what I read, this movie will not convince the die-hard republicans but would no doubt convince the fence-sitter you're referring to, Essencay.

Personnally, I will wait till it's out in video.
