Start 11 menu switches back and forth between standard Windows 11 menu and start 11

start 11 menu is not persistant

from Stardock Forums

I have been having a problem with start 11

 

about every other time I select the home menu -  start 11 switches to the standard W11 menu from the Start11 W10 menu screen I selected

it will go back and forth  -  even tried other options like the W7 menu

 

I have updated , then uninstalled and re installed start11 to no avail.     I have start 11 on two other machines and do not have this issue with them

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know few details from your system.

  1. Your Windows 11 full version and OS Build number, Use Winver.exe to get these numbers.
  2. Start11 full version number installed.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

No change

tried it a couple of times   -   in each time, the home page will still switch back and forth between the Windows 11 home page and the start11 home page

The stable version of 2.8 was released today. Give it a try and see if it fixes your issue.

Happy to report that installing version 2.8 appears to have fixed the problem 

Tried it multiple times, even after a couple of reboots

Great app.   Microsoft tries its best to fornicate the user experience, this is a key mitigation 

I will update the other install when the start11 requests it.
