deskscapes update broke deskscapes?

i got the latest update for deskscapes. Now my nice animated desktop isn't working. I have a video loop I play, i like it.
it won't just play as a video loop like it used to. 

I don't want any other effects for now just my video loop playing like it always used to.

with the latest, how? And why did just updating break it when it was working fine before?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know few more details.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS Build number.
  2. Deskscapes full version number installed.

Uninstall, REBOOT, reinstall and hopefully it will be happy.

Installed Deskscapes 2026  no backgrounds will load. Rebooted three times testing after each reboot, still nothing.
Win11 26220.8474.  Was working fine before upgrading to 2026.

I had to uninstall Deskscapes 2026 after repeated missing dll errors (W11). I'll try the Microsoft patch suggested above along with a reinstall.
