Anybody notice the newest WB update? Wow!

First off, If you (haven't) got the most recent update, then this thread will be moot.

I updated last night and I noticed that when you change from one skin to another, that it will morph to the next skin.
Atleast, it does for me.
I thought it was a neat effect.
It seems, they're bringing a little of DesktopX over to windowblinds. Or that's what it feels like.

Most of the time, unless I look, I haven't a clue what was updated. But this was a noticable effect.

Not sure what you mean......... it seems to be changing the skins faster on my system, but I don't see any morphing going on. It just seems to hesitate for a couple of seconds, and then BAM! new skin applied. No more flickering, and flashing..... I like it!

Randy.... If you have a window open ( like... My Computer for instance) and then change the skin, I think  you will see what Z71 is talking about. It doesn't seem to happen on the WB Config window, but does on others.

It does it (for me) when I use the config or (right click, properties). Maybe it's my system or graphics card. I don't know.

Not a big deal. I just thought it way different.

does it do anything other then morph? i really don't care what it does between skins as long as it skins.. i'm more concerened about compatability with the rest of my software...

It's just a visual effect. Doesn't do anything to the windowblinds.

A couple of weeks ago I was getting the morphing. Then my WB crashed completely. It just stopped working. Probably something I did. I had to reinstall WB and everything worked fine. No more morphing. I was working with Skinstudio alot and I know you have been also Z71 so just firgured I would add that.

It will only 'morph' if you change skins from wbconfig and if you are not using a multiple monitor system (works on some, not others).  You also require a high end graphics card (ATI, Nvidia, Matrox)

NightTrain2002: Earlier versions of WB did not have this feature.

Hmmm, I just tried the (current) 4.29c[rc].003 build on XP Pro with a dual monitor set up and a relatively slow and old video card and it wasn't happy at all. Instead of a nice "morph", when applying a new skin, lots of items became broken graphics (including the taskbar, window frames etc!), and then the WB control panel stopped listening to me - it registered clicks, but refused to even think about applying another skin.

Thankfully, SDC let me restore an archived version and it's all happy again as 4.29[b].002 - even though SDC still tells me I have the latest version installed for some reason.

I'm hoping to get a new machine next week, and I look forward to trying it then though.

I suppose I ought to a note on the news groups that this latest build breaks something in some cases....

Duty done...bug report made on the news group...it probably needs more details and a screen shot or two to illustrate fully, but I'll see if it gets fixed anyhow

I installed the newest version earlier today, and now my Outlook Express isn't skinning properly. Where the frame seprators/scrollbars and bottom taskbar should be, instead shows partial graphics of the underlying window or desktop. IE seems to be okay, it's only happening in OE.

But yes, I do see the "morphing" effect when changing skins.
