Desktop X Crashes!!

Every time I run Desktop X, I receive the following message: “Desktop X does not appear to have exited correctly. This could be the fault of a corrupt theme or buggy plugin. Would you like to start with a new, empty theme (Yes) or attempt to load the current theme again (No)?” Selecting either Yes or No brings: DesktopX.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close… Details abou message: AppName: desktopx.exe, AppVer: 0.0.0.0, ModName: dxahost.dll, ModVer: 2.0.0.0, Offset: 000223ca

Could it be a conflict with some other software you're using?

What version of Windows are you using?

And did it (DesktopX) ever work correctly on that computer?

Windows XP Home
Other programs running: Winamp, Weatherbug

I tried closing everything but Stardock software...no luck.

Desktop X worked for a few minutes, until I tried the Aquarium Suite.

I just discovered that the following themes do work: Alien Bone, MacDesk, The Guest Desktop, Windows 3.1
That leaves: Basic Aquarium, Default, Longhorn, The Kids Desktop. Is there anything that these themes have in common that makes Desktop X not work?

Unload DX and then load the Aquarium Suite

Nope what? The Aquarium Suite doesn't work as a stand alone without DX running?

We *all* knew that China♥Cat, I think yrag was just making sure you hadn't forgotten.

Hmm... Maybe it's something to do with your graphics adapter or its software?? Is that possible?

Could it be IconX having problems with a desktop item?
Unload DX, run regedit.exe and set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\DesktopX\IconX = 0, reload DX.

When I dxaxhost.dll, DX loads with no problems, except that it doesn't load completely (like on the Aqaurium suite, everyhting loads but the fish). Is it possible my dxaxhost.dll file is corrupt? Is there a way I can fix this?? I've tried everything mentioned above.
