and does it cost to be a member?

Since you ask about cost, I assume you just mean being registered on wincustomize. No cost to register although being a subscriber does have it's cost (and it's privileges).

If you've registered but don't want to use the site, just don't use the site. No big deal if your account registration remains. If I'm wrong and you've paid money for something and you've changed your mind, contact [email protected] and discuss it there.

There's nothing to cancel really. You've got a stardock.net account for access to the websites, but you didn't have to purchase anything. And apparently didn't download anything either, if I'm following the account info correctly.
