Yes, you can post to both places....or any of them....provided they accept the works.

It is a good idea where possible to use the same Nick on each site so no-one confuses different names with someone ripping your work.

The reality of having numerous potential outlets for a person's work just shows how 'pointless' it is to be overly uptight about the moderation process here...

As I've said before Asphyxiation, it's not the tools which make the artist, it's the ability.

Concentrate less on getting the high-powered up-to-date tools, and more on improving your techniques and ideas using the tools you're already comfortable with. Once you reach a certain level of ability, then you can start experimenting with other tools. Otherwise, the temptation is there to just use endless filters and built-in effects in place of doing the work for yourself.

Asphyxiation, I agree with grayhaze aswell. It's your ability, know-how and a great imagination that makes great walls. It's time consuming and a lot of hard work but in the end you will receive your reward......total satisfaction! I have Paintshop Pro 8 and I have been trying and trying(I'm very picky)and there is no way I'm even close to uploading! When I'm satisfied, I will upload.............It's win, loose or draw but at least I know I tried my very best! Don't ever give up the fight and most of all, put your very best into it

Make it your own work, and not that of the program's filters and scripts.

No No. It's the tools. It's all about the tools. Buy the most expensive softwares and use them to your advantages over other artists. You can do more with Photoshop than M$ Paint. Just kidding.

It are the tools for a part but start out with something simple. I used to create all my stuff in flash (Yeah I know... but hey, that was about 3-4 years ago) Then switched to photoshop. It was a pain when I first started with the tryal, especialy the layers were iritating me but after the trial I got used to it so decided to buy it. Now its almost a second nature to create layers )

(excuse the gender specific language, bit the phrase sounds odd if translated into more ploitically correct parlance!)

The point of my post above was that if the tools ARE very poor, then they get in the way, but once they're adequate then it needs the skill and inspiration to make something great.

I once taught a textile designer friend of mine how to use a couple of basic tools in Corel Photopaint and then left her too it for a couple of hours. When I returned, with just those few tools she'd painted something that looked great, where as I (who knew how to use most of the program) couldn't make something half decent. She had skill and made something great DESPITE the limited tools...but, give even her one scrap of chalk and a scrap of paper and she'd struggle to paint the Sistine Chapel

I agree.  I have seen some amazing art come from free programs.  You need to work at it, though.  Button pushing won't get you far.

Believe me. I'm not throwing crap on Bryce and spitting it out. I'm sitting there staring at it wondering what else I can do to it. Adjusting this, moving that. Saving jpg's and editing them on adobe. (What's the best jpg editor? Adobe? Vue? Lightwave3d?)

Some of you don't like 3D abstract art. I do. Lots of people do. A shiny doughnut here, a blazing ball of light there. Sometimes it's cool.

Only the first time....maybe the second, too...but after that it gets really old, really fast.

The problem with those is that they are a dime a dozen.  The best abstract walls are the ones that are built off a concept, not just "cool" elements slapped together at random.
