Cannot switch back to primary computer

KVM Mode

I'm running the trial version of Multiplicty4. I've been using a KVM Hardware switch made in China on Amazon that doesn't work reliably. I was excited to try this, but, it's not working out so far. I'm leaning toward buying a subscription to Remote PC. I have (4) laptops with (1) 32" LG Monitor. I don't care about mouse and keyboard. I use a wireless Logitech MX Anywhere Mouse and a Logitech wireless keyboard. I only care about switching the laptops between the (1) LG 32" Monitor / full screen.

I am able to set up my Dell as a primary and my Lenovo as a secondary. I am able to connect to the Lenovo, but, after sourcing the internet and your forums, nothing works to transfer back to the primary except to shut down the secondary computer. I set up hot keys, I tried key combinations like CTRL/Q, etc. that I found in forums. Nothing works. I haven't gotten to the next level to add 2-more laptops.

Why doesn't this work seamlessly? Also, it seems Multiplicity does not have a feature where I can change switch between computers unless the same computer is the primary and it is always turned on. That's a feature I want. On my hardware KVM (which doesn't work reliably) I have (4) computers connected and I can switch to any of them even if 2 computers are turned off.

So, even accepting if that feature is not an option in Multiplicity, how do I fix it, so, I can go back to my primary computer? Again, I have (2) computers connected. I go from the primary to the secondary. Works great full screen, but, nothing works to return to the primary computer.

With remote PC, I can load (4) computers and give them all the ability to switch between each other even if 1 or 2 are turned off and I can go full screen or re-size the screen and use the mouse and keyboard from whichever computer I want to control the other computers without having the need to make 1 of them a primary and 1 a secondary.

Remote PC also allows you to share files between computers. We use it at work and I do it all the time when I am home. You just copy/paste and the other features like sound work, as well. I'm buying this new KVM solution for my personal home setup.

Look forward to your feedback. I want to make a decision quickly to dispose of this unreliable Chinese crap KVM hardware switch I got from Amazon.

Thank You.

I suspect 'transfer' means connecting from the KVM'd to Secondary.  Please see

As for the latter option, to KVM to a PC that's off, you can use 'Wake on lan' (WOL).

Ensuring WOL is set up on your PCs (the remotes) is outside of the scope of what we can help with but there are a number of help options online.

Hi, everyone, thank you for responding. The fix worked to transfer from the primary to the slave and back to the primary. I was going full screen on the slave and was not able to see that top menu. There was no icon. But when I put my mouse in that area, eventually, that top menu appeared and I was able to flip back to the primary computer by simply "x-ing" out of the window for the slave computer . So, that worked perfectly. I could also size the slave computer and work with the primary, side by side, if I wanted. Great.

Unfortunately, the other features I want, like being able to not be dependent on the primary computer to always control everything and to transfer between all the computers from any of the computers is not a current feature. Perhaps, you will add that feature in your next update.

I use Stardock's Fences and am a satisfied customer, but, it sounds like I'm an update or two away from a future release of Multiplicity before it will meet my needs.

Thanks Again for the help.
