Wow, that's alot of stuff...for only $50 none the less. But how would someone without a cc go about buying? Any suggestions? I absolutly love every aspect that this website provides, and I'd really like to learn to create my own skins.

Oh, I had another question. I was looking at the trial version of Skin Studio, and I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a "top of the line" paint program for editing with? Thank You.

Theres Photo Shop, Paint Shop Pro and a handfull of others. Hust depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. Gimp is free.

It might be hard, but its free, and its almost as powerful as photoshop in my opinion, and is better than paintshop pro in my opinion. Of course if you don't know how to use either photoshop or paintshop its best to start with one of them becasue gImP is not easy to learn.

Well shoot me some prices, I want what is being used to create all these magnificent skins!

photoshop - expensive (~600+ dollars)
corel graphics -> I think its ~450 depending
paintshop pro -> about a hundred I think
gimp - free

I've seen Paint Shop Pro for as little as $49 at Best Buy. And I disagree with Travis about gimp being better than PSP. I've used both, they're both powerful, but gimp is a pain to learn, and use.. IMHO.

I also agree that giving the free trial download of PSP would be a very smart move if you haven't much experience with graphics creation or editing programs. I've been using Photoshop and PSP for years, as well as various CAD programs, and I still found the learning curve on the GIMP to be pretty steep, and at least for me, not worth the effort.

If you shop around some on the net through discount sellers you can find PSP 8 for between $65-$75 for the full version. I have also seen PSP 7 packages on eBay for under $50, and PSP 7 has served a lot of us very well for several years.

well I like gimp better than psp, but thats probably just me....it also doesn't hurt that gimp runs in linux, my preferred os right now. I thought psp was more expensive than 50 dollars, but hey cheaper is better

I have also priced older copies of photoshop on ebay for a little as 100 dollars. granted these are not fresh and you will not get any support from adobe. You can find unopened older copies on ebay too, but they cost more.

I "dabled" with "Style Builder" for awhile a couple months ago....but WB is much , much better. I used the trial version of PSP7, so I am some what familiar with the format. Checking it out now.....

I hope I didn't mislead anyone by my assessment of GIMP. From everything I've learned, it's a very capable graphics package. And your point about LINUX is important, I think, Travis. From what I understand, GIMP does play better on LINUX than Windows. That was one of the problems I had with GIMP was getting it set up to work well with Windows. Actually, it's a problem I still have

It should also be noted that I'm an old dog, and some days it's challenge enough just to remember the tricks I learned as a pup, much less find the energy to learn a new trick.

GIMP is just a bit 'odd' in the way you do things....less logical than other proggies...

PSP 5 is a freely accessible proggy which is a perfect starting point....if it's not a free link on the net you should still find it on Comp Mag CDs...

Forgot.....once you've got the hang of the free, full PSP 5, it'll whet your appetite for a later/newer version....but by then you'll know whether it's worth the outlay...
