Someone please help me make a decision?

im trying to decide if it's really worth the 50 bucks to download object desktop. the deal is that i dont spend all my time personalixing everything, just a few things. icons, theme, bootscreen.. for example. i dont want to just "freebie" everything but is it worth buying for just a few customizations? also, hesitating due to the fact that there are so many different options. such as the membership to wincustomize too, for another 20 bucks. whats a boy to do, please someone help me with the decision... thank you. my aim is slipintonite as well, any opinions are welcome.

I'd say get the ObjectDesktop setup. You wont use it unless you have it. Go for it!

I suggest to go for it. even though I don't usually use windows anymore, I don't know what I'd do with windows without object desktop. You get a number of programs and each one is entirely useful. You have windowblinds, desktopx, iconpackager, icondeveloper, skinstudio, and objectbar just to name some of the major parts. If you were to buy each of those seperately it would come to over 100 dollars. I use all of them and each one is very good at what it does. With Object Desktop you can customize your whole computer with one suite of applications. you don't need any others. Windowblinds will hanle the visual style, iconpackager will handle the icons, desktops will handle the desktop and objectbar can change the taskbar if you so choose. also with programs like skinstudio and icondeveloper you can manually change all of the elements to make a totally custom theme.

If you were to purchase IconPackager, WindowBlinds, and DesktopX, you will spend more than $50. And with ObjectDesktop you get those plus SkinStudio, Theme Manager, Icon Developer, and a slew of other things........ Plus all the pre-release betas. Even if you don't use half of the programs available (like me) it's still a tremendous bargin. You'll also get unlimited downloads from the WC libraries. My suggestion is go for it!

Object desktop is dollar for dollar a great buy.You will get your icons and themes with it, plus more. I would get that before getting a subscription as that only gets you unlimited downloads, and what good is that if you can't use the stuff you downloaded without the programs to use them with. The shareware versions time out. So I highly recomend object desktop as your first choice.

If you use two or three of the OD apps routinely it's still worth the OD subsription price IMO. You get other apps that you might want to use on occasion, prerelease betas if you're brave and unlimited WC downloads and preferred access. I do think it's good value for the money, even though I ususally don't make use of all the apps available on OD. And the annual renewal costs less than the initial purchase price and you get all program updates to new versions. So....just figure the cost of the apps you do or would use and see what it's worth to you.

Spend as much as you feel you can afford....the best value is with the full OD sub...so that'd be the wise choice, but many are often quite happy with Windowblinds alone.....

Warning, though.....like tattoos, skins and skinning is addictive, so you will be unlikely to stop just with WB....

Yeah, I started with a trial of WebBlinds (the now dearly departed), bought WindowBlinds and then wanted to play more so got OD. YMMV.

definately worth the price, versatile, and when you consider all the stuff that goes with it, you're getting one heck of a bargain.
also,
you do know that the price goes down when you renew right?...
sooo, you get whole bunch of programs, which can be used seperately , together, only on sundays... whatever,..that are constantly being refined and updated, so you have the newest product available always. the tech support is #1, and the perks far outweigh the price. ...
