Start11 v2 only work on non-primary taskbar

Hi,

I'm experiencing an issue with Start11 v2.1 on my system. The taskbar alignment feature works correctly only on my secondary monitor but not on the primary one. Here are the details of my setup:

  1. OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3803)
  2. Software: Start11 2.1
  3. Troubleshooting Steps Tried:
    • Rebooted the OS and reinstalled Start11 – no change.
    • Changed various multi-display settings in Windows 10, but the issue persists.
  4. Display Setup:
    • Primary Monitor: 3440x1440 (landscape), 100% scaling, connected via DisplayPort.
    • Secondary Monitor: 1440x2560 (portrait), 100% scaling, connected via DisplayPort.
  5. Language: English.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not reproduce this issue on my Windows 10 system.

  1. Any reason you're not updating to latest Windows 10 version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4780)? Please update to latest version and retest.
  2. Just as a test, If you set your secondary monitor to landscape, does the issue resolve?
  3. Is this a new issue, it was working previously or on previous Start11 version?

Thank you.

Hi Basj,

Thanks for your response.

  1. I updated Windows 10 to the latest version (22H2, OS Build 19045.4780), but the issue persisted.
  2. I scrambled the port choices for both DisplayPort cables on my GPU (switching all connections around), which eventually resolved the issue.
  3. I previously used Start11 v1 without any problems, but after a complete OS reinstallation, the issue appeared. Upgrading to Start11 v2 did not resolve it.
  4. I suspect this might be related to how the GPU assigns priority to video outputs on different DP ports, similar to how the system determines which screen displays BIOS settings in a multi-monitor setup.
  5. I haven't had the chance to test the secondary monitor in landscape mode, so I apologize for not being able to provide that information.

Hope this helps in identifying the issue further!

To be clear, are the DisplayPort cables "daisy chained" together? And, now after rearranging display cable connection the issue resolved?

Hi Basj,

To clarify:

  1. No, each monitor has a direct, separate connection to the GPU (not daisy-chained).
  2. I tried plugging the DisplayPort cables into different ports on the GPU, essentially reordering their output.
  3. Yes, doing so resolved the issue.
