Groupy causing other apps to crash

Apps crashing a repeatedly with group 2 installed

What exactly causes apps to crash I don't know. But with some experimentation I've been able to figure out one way of reproducing the issue. (before refunding it)

I would open a chrome window, and run youtube (because I did want my music while testing). Then moving my mouse on and off the edge of the window a bunch, it would slow down at first and crash after a bit. At first I figured this might be a temporary thing, or a one time glitch. But it was a recurring issue.

I have refunded the product and installed groupy 1 again, but was asked to make a forum post by Sean Drohan in a response to my steam review. I would really like this to run well!

Sorry taking a couple weeks to make this post

Hi, I would really like this to work well. I would have to re buy the app to do more testing tho, unless there are logs are still on my pc.

I had groupy 1 installed from the stardock website, and installed group 2 via steam. I did not remove or deactivate groupy 1 before installing groupy 2.

The installation and configuration of groupy 2 had some hickups and glitches, where the settings menu had it's visuals stretched out when I resized it then it crashed. But that only happened once and after opening it again it worked fine.

After trying it out for  a bit I really liked the visuals, and some of my apps crashed but I did not want to attribute it to groupy 2 right away. After a bit I started noticing occasional stutters when crossing app borders though. So I tested this with chrome, and turns out that moving my mouse back and forth over the bottom border quickly caused it to slow down, and crash in somewhere between a couple seconds and a minute.

I repeated this a couple times to be sure, then removed groupy 2 and installed groupy 1

Everything is back to normal now, but the tabs aren't as pretty :(

There might be some conflict between Groupy1 direct vs Groupy2 Steams. Activation check and method are different. Would advice to uninstall Groupy1, reboot immediately. before installing Groupy2 to ensure proper installation on Groupy2. And reboot immediately again after installation finished.

I can also try it on a virtual machine, if it works there I can just reset my machine. Before I do though, I would like to confirm I can get a refund if we can't get this to work properly

Thank you! You might want to brush up on European law and update your policy. I've refunded your product and do not require further support.

It is worth noting there is a 30 day trial available too.  That would be a far easier way to check something.  If you had used a trial already I suspect Sean could reset that for you.

I don't mind skipping the trail, your software is cheap, cool and really handy. But your policies would be a straight up crime here, and I'm not going to bother any further

The laws in place for a purchase depend on what country the sale is considered to have been made in.

Ordering from a small company in the US for example is likely to be considered taking place in the US, not your country.

Yes, I said "would be a straight up crime". Just because you're legally allowed to screw people because of where you're registered, doesn't make it right. This is an attitude that does not inspire trust

I am unsure which bit of policies are a problem for you, but Stardock are not out to con people and have been in business for over 3 decades.

We also offer trial versions of software so people can try software on their setups at no risk to themselves.  Very much try before you buy.
