LCD Monitors and Wives

Yesturday I had the opportunity to work on my boss' computer (she has a 17 inch LCD monitor, I have a 17 inch CRT monitor), and I was BLOWN AWAY! The sharpnes, the clarity, even on tiny type was excellent. My question is: How do I convence my wife (who thinks of a computer as just a tool) that $400 or so dollars is NOT unreasonable for a monitor?

Any good reasons, advices (is that a word?), or rationales will be appreciated.

Not in my house! Just because it's a done deal won't stop the conversation (one way: She speaks, I listen).

Be real nice to her...tell her you have something you need to "discuss." Act like it's a really huge thing. Like someone died or something. Then tell her you needs. If she gets mad and says no, then get twice as mad as she did and tell her she just doesn't understand. Tell her you have given her your life and all you want is to spend a little money on yourself. Say, "Fine...Forget it...I'm not buying it"

Then when she comes to apologize...she'll ask you to buy it. Keep pretending like your not going to do it until you're sure she's learned her lesson. Then go get it!

Sometimes I scare the hell out of myself!

I think you guys are married to the wrong women   Jeez, it sounds like your lives have ended just because you are married.

My husband and I spend money on our own toys.  I like it when he wants to buy something, because I can always then justify my cheaper toy that I want.  He buys a $6,500 snowmobile, I get a $3,000 camera.  See how that works?

Just probably.

I can undestand how my wife might feel $400 or so is a lot to spend, especially when you can buy a CRT for half that amount.

But I want it anyway!!!

I will probably catch the least grief if I just save for it.

Save for it...are you serious? You must be kidding! Here in America we never save for anything. Just break out the Visa and go for it! After all...that's what America is all about...Getting the best toys we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't know! That's how us MEN do it!
