Winamp v2, 3, and 5 Conflicts with WindowBlinds

Ive searched this message board for this problem before I posted, but not many others are having this same problem. I've found no answers, just more question so far.

So if anybody out there has had this problem and fixed it, or has any advice please holla back.
Ok.. dont laugh..

Im running win98se and winamp 5 now.
I had the same prob with winamp 2 and 3 aswell.
Heres whats going on, plain n simple winamp pretty much locks up windowblinds lil by lil until I turn winamp back off.

Ive tried reinstalling both, visa versa. Ive turned down winamp to use minamal system resources. Ive messed with both programs, and Ive even went as far as defragmenting my pc. Could it be the fact that Im still useing 98se..??
Ive got a good soundcard, videocard, plenty of ram, and all kinds of system resourses, updates and drivers... Im just lost

I really dont want to have to give up either program. I mean stardock @*%#'n rulez, I love being able to change my browser, icons, etc.. with a press of a button. But I gotta have my music and winamp is the king.
Well, Im just rambling on now, thanks for your time and troublez. And any help will not be taken for granted, I know you all have got other\better things you could be doing.

I vaguely remember similar probs back when running 98......it's probably an issue with 98's memory handling [or lack of], combined with WinAMP's hungry processor use...

winAMP uses a lot less memory then some other media players.

and yes I think jafo is right. when I used winamp on 98 a long time ago some other programs didn't run right because they didn't have enough memory. and it doesn't matter how much ram you have its a limitation of the os
