I am fairly new to winCustomize. And thought they were a nice family based site to download quality wallpaper and the what not.. Until I get this today! "Error: Server too busy

As other sites have discovered, ads don't make sufficient revenue to offset the costs of a site like this. Futhermore, the site owners have restrictions on the kinds of things that are advertised here so those driveby download crapware/spyware popups and ads are not welcome here. So ads really don't contribute much to the maintenance of a site like this.

The only adds that can really pay for a site now a days are porno adds and if SD was to incorporate those here, it wouldnt be a family oriented site anymore, now would it?

If you still have no luck with the cross referencing trick, email Stardock support and they should be able to sort it out for you. But again, they're off for the holidays so it will take some time to get a response.

I had the same problem the other day (Data Connection Error) and was wondering what the problem was. So if the site was reserved for subscribers during that time why was I getting this error being a level 4 user/subscriber?

I'd be interested in hearing an actual solution from the original poster.

If there is X bandwidth/computing resources and there are Y people wanting to use it where Y > X then what should be the determining factor for deciding who gets access to X?

Someone is going to get locked out. It isn't a matter of IF, it is a matter of WHO.

So who gets blocked when the servers meet their limit?

it amazes me how many people complain about the practices here at wincustomize, yet they are attacked as being freeloaders, and no one ever listens to the valid statements, so close minded around here its ridiculous. I agree with the original poster they suck you in hear then start gradually forcing you to pay for crap. just plain decieving

Yeah!...They damn near broke my arm when they sucked me into turning on my PC...and then they used the chinese water torture on me when they made me go to their website knowing I would get sucked in...Oh the humanity!!! And I could feel their hands in my pocket when they forced me to get out my wallet and pay for something that people spent countless hours putting together...the nerve of them!!!....And then day after day I am forced into downloading all this cool...uh...I mean... all this stuff I just hate to see and use...when will it ever stop!!!

If you can not get it to work with out buying a subcription then email me and I will be glad to get one for you to help support the site. I have had a great holiday and made lots in tips slinging drinks and after the first I will be a 4th year intern which means I will get paid to work instead of paying them to teach me

Who is this guy? I have seen a couple of posts from him and he or she seems to have a problem understanding the way things work round here.
