Fences 4.21 - icon trouble

I am on Windows 11 and have Fences 4.21 (although Object Desktop says to upgrade, no upgrade is available). Meanwhile, I have my icons on the desktop becoming blank. I am unsure what triggers this, but it happens many times a day. If I right-click the desktop and then press Refresh on the sub-menu, the icons repair themselves and return to the proper display. This is annoying and is happening regularly. Does it indicate a bigger issue with the installation? How do I get this to refresh on its own or not blank out in the first place?
