Groupy 2.12 Beta Feedback Thread

With the Groupy 2.12 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Fixed for now.

 

Any chance for the font color to pull from the inactive titlebar to prevent issues like this?

While it won't make it to a released version of 2.12 (imminent), I have created a ticket to have it looked at for the next.

Occasionally the Windows 10 "Contextual Tabs" show when "Integrate the tabs" is selected.

Not really sure if Groupy2 is supposed to be suppressing these contextual tabs or the Windows 10 system is suppressing them. 

This doesn't always happen and seems to be an intermittent issue.

 

Two tabs, Downloads tab selected. (Above)

 

Same window Start Buttons tab selected. The "Manage" contextual tab is shown under the Downloads tab. (Above)

Difference for tabs between Groupy2 ver. 2.1 stable and Groupy2 ver. 2.1.2.1-j112 Beta:

With the following Groupy2 settings enabled: Place tabs above; Show all; Traditional tabs; Add background bar; Always visible;

and Windows 10 Settings: Show accent color on title bars & windows borders

Groupy2 ver. 2.1 stable (Above)

 

Groupy2 ver. 2.1.2.1-j112 Beta (Above)

 

Groupy2 ver. 2.1.2.1-j112 Beta with Background bar disabled (Above)

 

It appears that Groupy2 ver. 2.1.2.1-j112 Beta does not respect the traditional tabs setting when the Background bar is enabled.

We are looking into this, it won't be in todays release of course, but I have been able to reproduce it.
