What is the overal quality of an icon set that is for sale. Would you buy this: ?

I was working on some icons last days and just to give you an idea how they look:

I was wondering, do you guys think that this could be sold (or with other worths, will people buy it if I would...)

If it had some color to it i would buy it. I dislike black and white things on my desktop.

Really nice..

It's a pity I don't know anything about marketing

In my oppinion, they look real good but it would have a more marketing potential if you was to include a variation of colors, per example the ORION icons that has 6 different colors in the pack.

Very nice style... Styl!
In the right situation, black and white is very nice. As far as selling them? I'm sure there would be some who'd buy them.
I gotta get to bed.... spelling and vision fading!

Take into consideration also, that they still have to look relatively nice in sizes under 48*48 as I think You will have problems in that field. I have made a bunch of icons as a set (arround 100) I have never released (even not for free) because of that.
I think all purchase icon sets will be compared to Orion, as a more complete package was never made. Speaking especially of the variety of filetypes supported in the packs. That is a main reason I always come back to them as I miss that in other sets.

c242, yeah, most of them do look good under 48X48, I am already using some.
Support of all the filetypes is indeed a must, als orion has multiple colors not?
looks like I will be bussy for a while

now, lets see if I can get a list with all the file types and an explanation of what they are...

I'd have to see what they look like at 32x32 and 48x48.  It's not that hard to make nice large icons. Making things that look good at 32x32 is really a challenge.

yep. Although using icon developer makes things easier.
For resizing and such.

I can't say i'd buy them because I have never bought icons. Your best bet is to start putting icons out on the market and hope somebody big notices you and comissions you to make some icons for them.

They look very professional, just a bit monochromatic.(which would fit some skins very well)A lot of small details for little icons but you might be able to make the little ones look good.Drop shadows are always nice too.
yeah, I will probably add some drop shadows.
I've runned them with 64 and 48, 64 looked better but 48 was still within 'the limits' IMO.

They look OK at 48, but a bit confused at 32. Perhaps a bit more contrast in some areas would work better, especially on the third icon, that speaker is a bit dark and doesn't re-size well.

Nice work though, super quality

The fun part is making sure all of them look good at 16x16, you havent lived untill you've done 1500 Icons in one big batch.
These are realy nice though, they show alot of tallent. Play arownd with them and see what works when it comes to sizeing. The more you do, the more you will get a feel for what works, what dosenot. And the hard part, desideing which Icons dont need to be worried about.

Have full with them and best of luck.

Igot a few tips at work today.

Mucho respect for mormegil...that 16x16 trick has kept me out of the icon biz so far.

"kona, you don't have any money."

Ofcourse I would need some 'beta testers'

Mormegil, I've got a question; When you import the iconfiles to iconpackager, is it possible to import another icon for the same file, for exapmle, uploading a 'my computer' icon in 48X48 and in 16X16, just so they look good in the explorer. Is that possible?
