Groupy 2 won't run properly

Installed Groupy 2 on my work Win 11 (Build 10.0.22623)  laptop, but it won't run properly. After installing, rebooting, then logging into the laptop, all I get is a black screen. I do see my mouse move around on it but that's it. I can ctrl+alt+del to launch task manager and I see that explorer isn't running. I try to manually start explorer but it won't start. If I stop the groupy service and kill any other groupy tasks I can manually start explorer at that point. If I restart at that point, It goes back to black screen again. After uninstalling the computer starts working again as expected. I tried uninstalling and deleting the settings, then reinstalling. This is the same symptoms I was having when I tried groupy1 on this same laptop. I looked in event viewer and see this...

I can't tell if this is from explorer not starting on bootup or if its from me trying to manually start explorer. This is a Intune Managed laptop, so maybe I have some policy blocking the app from running properly, but I am not receiving any notifications of such.

That might be because it's set up to not give a user notification for some issues and/or because you're running an insider build of Windows 11. Preview versions of Windows are not supported by Stardock.

Ahh. Didn't even think to check if I was on a preview build. Do you think its more likely that Intune management piece is stopping a process or the preview build. I'll have to experiment when I get back in the office.

Sorry, but could be one or both and guessing won't help you much.

I reimaged the Win 11 laptop and am on standard build (Build 10.0.22621) but am having the exact same issue. I tried a win 10 laptop with intune and have not had any issues on that one. At first the Win 11 one worked fine. I was able to create a couple of groups, rebooted and it worked fine. Came in this morning and thought the laptop had locked up as nothing would show on screen. Hard rebooted it, logged in and explorer wouldn't start like initially reported. stopped groupy service, and killed the two groupy processes and was able to start explorer at that point. I tried another reboot but results were the same. I uninstalled groupy deleting groups and settings. after reboot reinstalled groupy it immediately killed explorer and I couldn't start explorer again until killing groupy processes and service. Any suggestions, or any logs I could pull?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Try this, uninstall Groupy 2. Reboot immediately after its done, download the installer again, reboot again. Retest it and report back.

Thanks

Ideally we would need a dmp file from the crash.  That would help us identify the incompatibility thats happening.

Basj, I've tried but results are no different than before.

Neil, is appdata\local\crashdumps Groupy? I had 10 dmp files in there so I zipped them up and put them here...

I imaged another laptop with Win 11 added it to Intune, and installed Groupy. I created a group and am able to use it without issue. I rebooted several times and so far the laptop and group work fine. It doesn't seem to be an Intune issue, must be some other piece of software I have installed on my laptop that's conflicting with Groupy.
