Groupy - Not working in most of the apps after new Windows 11 update

Hi Team,

After updating all options Windows 11 patches, it appears that Groupy in not working in the majority of the applications.

Example - MS has released a tabbed feature for notepad which you cannot use to group with Groupy anymore.

Can you please investigate this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I just tested it and I still can group Notepad with Explorer without issue. Which Windows 11 update you're using now?

Hi Basj, can you please try to group Edge and notepad together? You may also try Notepad and MS Word and see if that works?

Don't have Word on this system. But, Edge grouped without issue. Just to remind. Remember, do not click and drag on the program tab when trying to group groupy. You will need to click and drag on the title bar to group.

HI Basj,

I have been using the product for a long time now. I just tried again with word and notepad, it does not work. Not even with edge & word. I have recorded this but am unable to upload it here. Can you please provide me your email address / shared cloud link and I'll upload there.

It appears that the new tool require some sort of update / coding changes after the recent MS updates. The list below includes updates in Feb & March. Experienced the issue after the installation of KB5022913.

2023-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022913)

2023-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022845)

2023-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022360)

Appreciate if you can get this investigated.

Further to my last note - the app is working fine in Windows 10 on another PC however it is broken on Windows 11 with the latest update by MS.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Hi again Basj - after retrying and waiting for few mins after restarting the pc, few combinations are working in Groupy & others do not.

Example,

Grouping Edge with Chrome  does not work.

Grouping Edge with File explorer does not work but I group Edge with Word and then with explorer it works. This is so weird after the update.

Can you please get this investigate to fix the bugs and the temperament of the app working with some app combination & not working for others?

Hello,

I have tried.

Edge with Chrome work on my system.

Edge with File Explorer also work. Don't need to check with Word. refer screenshot below.

Please try the cleanboot and report back.

Hi Basj - I personally do not know what has been done but after cleanboot, reinstalling etc. it has finally started working. One other thing which I did - uninstalled the latest two patches & then re-installed.

All working fine. Thanks for your patience and on-going professional advise.
